Lesmurdie falls

Well this was going to be one of our hardest bushwalks that we had ever tried, the walk went over a total of 2kms up hill and the kiddies had no idea what was in front of them. But the best thing about hard walks is you know the kiddies are going to have a goodnight's sleep... you little beauty. And this walk sure took it out of the little nevilles as their little legs hopped from one rock to another.

The start was a nice little walk along a bush track through riverside vegetation of marris trees and a tree called wandoos grow on the rising slope. As you get closer to the falls the growth around the track becomes quick thick and the walk starts to get a bit more hard.

Then suddenly your their at the base of the falls, it's a good time to have a nice rest, watch the water fall over the cliff and get a beaut cold drink before we tackle the hillside.

Then we back tracked along our path to we got to our trail going up to the top of the falls, the trip up that hillside was a little ripper. The little nevilles worked hard to get to our first viewing deck. And as you can see the first chance they got to hit the deck they were their.

This photo gives ya an idea what the drop over the side was like.

Then before we knew it we were at the top of Lesmurdie falls. We sat about having our bush tucker as the kiddies got all their strength back for the return trip back down the trail. Their is a car park up here but i thought it would be better to go up first then return back down to the car, then coming back up the slope. I was very happy with my idea, believe me mate. There is also some real beaut B,B,Q's and park benches for anyone looking for a beaut feed and a bit of a lookout.

From the top you can walk over a little bridge and out onto some open rocky granite outcrops which from their you can see extensive views of the Perth city, and the surrounding coastal plain below.

Here is a photo of two little boys just hanging out together..... one being a little more older then the other.

So with our bush tucker in our tummy the only thing left to do was the return trip back down the trail. Which we did a lot easier then the one up, but we still had little pit stops on the way so the nevilles could catch their breath. Poor little Sarah, at times she was doing it hard but she loved it and wouldn't stay at home for quids. This was one of our best bushwalks that we have done so far, but we have a hell of a lot more tracks to walk before we can safely say this was the best. But it was up their with them.
