Red hill bushwalk

On this Bushwalk we went along the outskirts of the John Forest National Park, we just drove along the Toojay road and picked a place to go walking. It was a beaut barmy day with the heat hitting just over 30 in the shade and with our back pack full with sangers, water and cookies off we went on one of the easiest walks that we had done so far.

Most of the walk was down hill and we went through some of the nicest bushland we have seen so far in our walks. The main feature in our walks over this side of Australia is the famous Black boy tree, and this walk was no different as there was black boys every where.

Along the way we stopped for a little drink break and then back on the track, here is the kiddies just taking on of those brakes. As you see in the back ground you can see that last year a bush fire came through and just wriped out the bush. But everyone knows that something like that is good for our bush as it gets ride of a lot of deadwood, pity the West Coast Eagles don't copy the idea! But by burning out the thick under growth you get to see right through the surrounding bush and see a lot of stuff that normally can't be seen.

Like this little creek running down the hillside, normally it would be hidden by the bush but we got to get right up close and have a gander.

And then we came to the end of the track and back tracked back up the hillside to where we parked our 'Fordie'. We had a little rest and some of our tucker and then just hung out looking from the top again. Fair dinkum Western Australia has some of the best bushwalks in this country. You only have to drive four minutes out of Middle Swan to see outstanding country side like this. And in WA you are also lucky as it hardly ever rains so even on a off day you can get out doors and have a flamin' good gander.
