Zamia Train Station (whitemans Park)

Well this was gonna be a real beaut bushwalk as today we were gonna walk to an old train station, which is located inside Whitemans Park on their railway line. The start of the walk was at lookout hill, which is a lookout on top of a hill!

The lookout is a real beaut one which was built about seven years ago, and was well worth it. From up on top of the platform you can see a lot more of nothing, then you can see from the bottom, fairdinkum.

The first part of the walk was real easy as the track is made into a bike path, and so is a real nice walk through the bush. But still it's a nice long walk as this part of the track goes for 2.5 kilometers, so with Oscars legs closer to the ground then say mine really this could be more like say 4klms for the little fella.

Then after a quick cut through the scrub we came to our destination, the Zamia railway station which the kiddies were very happy to see. Because not only had we gotten their but it was our first tucker stop, and our tucker stops are real beaut as not only do we have the normal sangers but also little extras. Like a small jam roll each and two chocolate bickies washed down with good fresh west Ossie water, and then a quick rest before our little detour in the bush and then walking back to lookout hill.

As we were stuffing our face with our jam rolls along came the whiteman train, now this was really cool mate being able to just sit back and watch an old diesel train just slowly riding by.

From the station we made our way in the bush along the Wunanga bush trail, now this is what is really a bush track. We pushed our way into the scrub as you can see for at least a kilometer, then it turned into a sandy bush track which turned back towards our main walking path.

Here is our boy Harrison.

Then we came to another railway signal and just after walking a crossed it we herd a noise, which turned out to be the old train again. So we watched it travel along the tracks till it disappeared into the bush, and it was back to our long walk back.

Ohhh, isn't that sweet!

Here are the slow coaches who were the last ones up to the top of lookout hill, but seeing we had just walked over six kilometers I don't balm them. But that was it for today and now we only had to walk to Kangaroo Flats to finish our walks around the whitemans railway.
